Maglev Shinkansen in 2025

I rode the bullet train in Japan for the first time last year, and it is rather wonderful. It's like a train from the future - on time, clean, spacious and fast like a thunderbolt. I'm therefore exceedingly chuffed to discover that the Japanese will be switching to even faster magnetic levitation trains by 2025. The Tokyo-Nagoya link is planned first, with the plan being to eventually connect Tokyo with Osaka so that commuters can do the trip in about an hour, at speeds of more than 500km/h. Trust the Japanese to take a system that was already great and start building towards something almost unearthly in its coolness, with trains floating on air. Of course it might all go pear-shaped and never work, but if it does I might just have to make a trip in 2025 to experience it for myself.
