Mirror Mirror

The BBC has a story on an impressive solar mirror power station in Seville, Spain that generates 11MW of energy from the sun. This is enough to power 6000 homes, and they are already clearing ground to add to the number of heliostats (reflectors) to boost the station's output. The great thing about this plant is that it's fairly low-tech, and low-maintenance. The biggest task is keeping the heliostats clean. I'm fairly sure this kind of station would work well in Australia, although it seems that clean coal and nuclear power may be more likely here in the next few decades.
